On the front pastedown, an old pastedown with table of contents and a note in German about seasonal qualities of fish, incipit: ‘Salmo fisch ist ym april vnd may am besten . . .', both in fifteenth-century hands. On the back pastedown, notes in various hands on the virtues attributed to biblical figures, on the effects of certain virtues and vices, and a prayer, all in Latin. Occasional marginal notes. On I7v a note on virtues and vices; on I8v notes in various hands, some of a computistic nature, some excerpts from theological texts.
On a1r an eighteen-line initial is supplied in burnished gold on an azure ground with white highlighting, within a segmented frame of red and green. Other initials are supplied in red or blue.
Provenance: Christoforus Mechilti (fl. 1503); on a former front pastedown, ‘Christofori Mechilti sum', on [*1r]: ‘Hunc librum comparauit frater christoforus Mechilti 1503'.On the former front pastedown: ‘Emi Grunbergæ 15 (1?) argl' in a sixteenth/seventeenth-century hand.
