[Strasbourg: Printer of Henricus Ariminensis (Georg Reyser?), not before Oct. 1474]. Folio. Polain dates [c.1475], but this is corrected by Ohly. Sheppard dates to [after 29 Sept. 1474], which is the date of Valdarfer's Milan edition, the verse colophon of which appears unaltered in this edition.

1. B-076(1) First copy Wanting the blank leaf [a1]. Binding: Contemporary German blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards, with remains of clasp. Quadruple fillets form a frame; on the upper cover a repeated octagonal floral stamp and a repeated shield stamp, bearing the coat of arms of a chevron between three stars (see also Schoeffer's device); and on the lower cover the shield stamp and a repeated lozenge-shaped stamp, now too worn for identification. The inner rectangle on the upper cover is divided into triangular compartments by quadruple fillets forming a saltire cross, in which is a repeated lozenge-shaped stamp, now too worn to be identified; on the lower cover a saltire cross is formed by the octagonal floral stamp, repeated. In the triangular compartments, on both covers is the shield stamp. Manuscript label on spine. Size: 285 × 215 × 45 mm. Size of leaf: 276 × 200 mm. Early marginal notes and underlining in black ink. Initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red. Capital strokes and underlining in red. Provenance: An early price-mark: ‘iii s/ vi d', on pastedown. Gengenbach, Baden-Württemberg, Benedictines, SS. Maria et Martinus; cancelled inscription with date 1622, on [a2r]: ‘Monasterii Gengenbachensis 1622. sub R[everen]do D[omi]no Joan[ne] Abb[ate]', Johannes Demlerus Friburgensis (†1626). 2. B-076(2) Second copy Wanting the blank leaf [a1]. Leaf [r6] backed. Binding: Eighteenth-century gold-tooled red morocco. On both covers triple fillets form a border; double fillets on edges of boards; fern-tip flower and foliage roll on turn-ins; floral tools on spine; marbled pastedowns; gilt-edged leaves. Size: 297 × 220 × 35 mm. Size of leaf: 287 × 200 mm. Initials are supplied in red or green, often with extensions into the margins, and pen-work infill and extensions in black or red, sometimes touched with yellow. Paragraph marks are supplied in red. Capitals touched with yellow wash. Provenance: Georgius de Brixia (fl. 1461); inscription and monogram on [r6r]: ‘hoc confessionale comparavi teste signo meo manuali ego Georgius de Brixia Venetiis an[no] d[omi]ni mcccclxxi(!)'.
