=563 \\$aInc.5.E.2.2[2815]: Binding: Sixteenth century blind tooled calf over wooden boards (boards divided into panels and lozenges with double fillet tools; small rose tool at intersections); four supports; formerly clasped from lower board; rebacked.$5UkCU
=599 \\$aInc.5.E.2.2[2815]: Height 188 mm. Item no. 1 in volume. Imperfect: Wants leaves pi1, pi6 and the blanks. Bound with quires aa-ff of the edition published: Delft : Jacob Jacobszoon van der Meer, 19 July 1484 (Oates 3350). =561 \\$aSSS.19.16: Provenance: Bookplates of Francis Freeling and Samuel Sandars; printed label (1896) of Sandars bequest. In the possession of "a gentleman at Harlem" in 1756 when it was examined on behalf of Jacob Bryant. No. 1171 in Freeling's sale catalogue (1836). Subsequently lot 202 in the sale of W. Jones Thomas (1891); bought from Ridler by Sandars in December of that year for £7.10s. See The Library, 5th series, II, p. 194-195 and III, p. 65-66. Annotations: Notes on front free end papers in the hands of Freeling and Sandars. On second front fly leaf verso a forged provenance inscription in an eighteenth-century hand: "Ex Liber [sic] Monasterii Harlamei". On d6r a further forged inscription in Dutch signed "Gherard tomasz pieters zoe[n]" purporting to record the purchase of this volume from his cousin "coster ian zoe[n]". MS text in Dutch, probably genuine, on k4v. At the end is a forged colophon, apparently stamped from a block: "[G]epre[n]t toe harlem bi mi laur[en]z ia[n]zon coster. m.cccc.l." Decoration: Principal initials supplied in blue with flourishes in red and green. Other initials supplied in alternating red and blue. The forged colophon is decorated in a similar style.$5UkCU
=563 \\$aSSS.19.16: Binding: Eighteenth-century English gold tooled red morocco in Harleian style; marbled end papers; gilt gauffered edges. Presumably after 1756, at which date Bryant's agent wrote "Tis pity the Moth has touch'd some of the Sheets"; this damage is not now visible and the leaves appear to have been cut down.$5UkCU
