Binding: Eighteenth-century mottled calf, the spine gold-tooled; red-edged leaves, marbled pastedowns, and red silk bookmark. Size: 190 × 135 × 15 mm. Size of leaf: 185 × 125 mm. Chapters have been numbered: 1-52 in a seventeenth/eighteenth-century(?) hand. On the front endleaf a bibliographical note in Douce's hand. Provenance: Jean Caron (sixteenth century): ‘Ce pñt liure appartiene a Jehan Caron pbre demour̄ au loger de monseigneur vichancl̄r de bretaigne'.
