1. N-037(1) Copy Binding: Seventeenth-century English blind-tooled calf; remains of leather ties. Formerly chained: staple-marks of a hasp at the head and tail of upper cover; the gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers. Size: 273 × 205 × 90 mm. Size of leaf: 270 × 183 mm. Front pastedown consists of a fourteenth/fifteenth-century manuscript leaf on parchment, probably from a liturgical text, now covered by a lining of paper. Marginal notes, mainly structuring the text and extracting key words, and the translation of a few words into Greek, in a number of early English hands, including that of William Hayte. Provenance: William Hayte (fl. 1573); inscription on Aa1r: ‘Willelmus Hayte emit hunc librum a vicario de Comba [Coombe Bisset, Wilts.] iuxta Sarum 1573'.
