  1. N-103(1) Copy Wanting the blank leaf [*1], and [*4] containing the woodcut of the Elders in adoration. Binding: Sixteenth-century German blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards, with an early manuscript title at the head of the spine and red-edged leaves. Two clasps and catches lost. Triple fillets form the outer frame, within which is a decorative roll. Within the following frame is a foliate roll. Within the inner frame is a different decorative roll with faces within cameos. Vertical triple fillets divide the inner rectangle into two rectangular compartments, each decorated with the decorative roll of the outer frame. Size: 248 × 185 × 35 mm. Size of leaf: 240 × 172 mm. Marginal notes, partly erased, in German, mainly extracting key words, in an early hand. Monogram ‘JN' on front pastedown; also found in N‑095. On [a1r] a seven-line German initial ‘S' is supplied in blue with white pen-work decoration on a square gold ground with punch dotting, within a segmented red and green frame. On the same leaf, a foliate and floral border is supplied in red, green, white, blue, grey, with gold dots. Principal initials are supplied in blue or green with red pen-work decoration; other initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red. Woodcut initials coloured in red, blue, or green. Provenance: Augsburg, Bavaria, Discalced Carmelites, S. Anna; erased inscription on [*2r]: ‘Ex libris Carmelit: discalceat: Augustae'. J. T.
