Binding: Seventeenth-century English blind-tooled calf; probably bound for the Bodleian Library; red-edged leaves; the gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers; edges of the boards gold-tooled. Four ties lost. Formerly chained: staple-marks of a hasp at the head of upper cover. Strips from a fourteenth-century(?) manuscript visible in the binding. Size: 273 × 196 × 65 mm. Size of leaf: 267 × 177 mm. Running chapter headings and foliation, probably in Calligarius's hand, partly visible. Provenance: Leonardus Calligarius (sixteenth century); inscription on a1r: ‘P. Leonardi Calligarii Prepositi Sancti Georgii'. Acquired by 1605; see James, Catalogus (1605), 128. Former Bodleian shelfmark: MM 28 Th. (`28' in black ink across the fore-edge).
