3. A2r [Distich on the Theocritean poems and the translation.] Incipit: ‘Theocritus scripsit Phileticus latinum fecit | Bucolicum carmen res acta Syracusis'; 1 elegiac distich.
4. A2r Theocritus: [Idyllia, I–VII]. The translation from Greek into Latin by Martinus Phileticus is dedicated to Federicus de Montefeltro. Incipit: ‘[A]epole dulce sonat patulis quod discolor aura | Commouet arboribus gelido quae fonte uirescunt'; hexameters. The translator and dedicatee are named on A1r. 6. a1r Hesiodus: Opera et Dies. ‘Georgicon liber e graeco conuerso'. The translation from Greek into Latin by Nicolaus de Valle is dedicated to Pius II, Pont. Max. Incipit: ‘Pierides musae quarum uiget inclyta cantu | Fama ducum et uestri nomen immortale parentis'; hexameters. At line 383 (of the Greek original) the heading ‘liber secundus de agricultura' introduces the remainder of the text as if it is a second book. The translator and dedicatee are named on A1r.
7. d3v Valle, Nicolaus de: [Poem dedicated to] Pius II, Pont. Max. Incipit: ‘Si uacat Aenea rerum dignissime praesul | Grataque sunt animo carmina nostra tuo'; 9 elegiac distichs. In this poem Nicolaus de Valle dedicates his translation of Hesiod to Pius II.
8. d4r Hesiodus: Theogonia. The translation from Greek into Latin by Boninus Mombritius is dedicated to Borsius Estensis, Marquess of Ferrara. Incipit: ‘[I]ncipiam a musis Heliconis carmen alumnis | Quae iuga sacra colunt montis spatiosaque terga'; hexameters. For the translator and dedicatee see list of contents on A1r.
9. i2v [Mombritius, Boninus: Poem on his translation of the work.] Incipit: ‘O modo tam digno cur me fortuna fefellit | Codice materia cur me priuauit honesta?'; 10 hexameters. The poem follows immediately after Theogonia without a heading.

A few notes in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Italian hands including brackets and pointing hands, one correction to the text, a gloss in Italian, and two cropped notes in Latin. Folio numbers supplied in pencil.
